Little boxes

Ik zette een tijdje geleden een live-elpee op, opgenomen in oktober 1977, het was een registratie van een folkfestival op het terrein van de universiteit van California in Berkeley. Op die elpee stond een opvallend liedje van zangeres Malvina Reynolds, getiteld “Little Boxes”, een grappig liedje over mensen die in hun leven doen wat alle anderen ook doen: studeren, werken, in dezelfde huizen wonen, kinderen krijgen, die kinderen gaan weer studeren, werken, in dezelfde huizen wonen, ga maar door. Pete Seeger had met haar nummer een hitje gehad in Amerika, zijn enige hit, en daardoor kreeg Malvina Reynolds enige bekendheid.
